Live space-weather data can look more complicated than it is. For SolarHealth, the first question is not “is this an alarm?” but “what is happening in the Sun-Earth system right now, and is it worth logging?”
This page is a practical watchlist. It uses official NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center data first, then points you to the SolarHealth articles that explain what the signals mean.
Evidence Boundary
Fact: Kp, solar wind, Bz, aurora maps, and NOAA alerts are geophysical monitoring tools.
Interpretation: A geomagnetic storm is more likely when elevated solar wind meets a sustained southward Bz and Earth responds with higher Kp.
Hypothesis: If you compare these signals with HRV, sleep, mood, or body notes, treat your own pattern as an observation to test over time, not as proof.
Start Here
If you only have one minute, use this order. It keeps the dashboard from becoming a wall of plots.
1. Official status
Check whether NOAA has issued a watch, warning, alert, or elevated R/S/G level.
2. Solar wind driver
Look at solar wind, Bt, and Bz to see whether upstream conditions can drive Earth.
3. Earth response
Use Kp and the aurora oval to see whether the magnetosphere is actually disturbed.
For personal logging, the useful line is narrow: Kp reached 5 or higher, Bz stayed southward, and there was an official NOAA context. Without that combination, be cautious with dramatic interpretations.

For SolarHealth logging, Kp 5 is the first clean threshold. Below that, context may still be interesting, but it is usually not a storm day.
Bz rule of thumb
Less efficient coupling into Earth’s magnetosphere.
More efficient coupling, especially when solar wind is elevated.
A brief southward dip is not the same as a sustained interval. Duration matters.
Live Panels
1. Official Status
How to use it. This is the first check. NOAA’s R, S, and G scales tell you whether radio blackouts, solar radiation storms, or geomagnetic storms are currently elevated. If this panel is quiet, social-media storm language needs extra caution.
2. Solar Wind Driver
How to use it. Watch solar wind speed, density, Bt, and especially Bz. Sustained southward Bz is the important part; a short dip is much less meaningful than a longer interval that stays negative.
3. Official Alerts
How to use it. Alerts, watches, and warnings give the operational context. They do not tell you how your body will feel, but they help separate official space-weather events from online noise.
4. K Index
How to use it. Kp 0-2 is quiet, 3-4 is unsettled to active, and 5 starts a G1 geomagnetic storm. Local station K is not identical to planetary Kp, so use it as local magnetic context rather than as the whole story.
5. Aurora Oval
How to use it. This is mainly for sky watching. The aurora oval helps you judge where aurora may be visible, but it is not a biology or symptom map.
6. Solar Background
How to use it. Active regions and coronal holes show the solar-side setup. This belongs to the background layer; it is not the same as a current geomagnetic storm signal at Earth.
What To Log
If you compare live space weather with personal data, keep the log small enough to keep using.

| Human context | Sleep, illness, alcohol, stress, exercise load, and unusual workdays can explain a lot. |
This is the practical discipline: log the environment, log the obvious human factors, and only then ask whether a pattern repeats.

What Not To Infer
- Kp is not a symptom score.
- Bz is not a personal risk number.
- Aurora visibility is not a health forecast.
- F10.7 is solar-cycle background, not a short-term storm alarm.
- Schumann resonance dashboards are not the same thing as NOAA space-weather dashboards.
The useful question is narrower and more honest: was today geophysically unusual enough that it deserves a timestamp in your own log?
