Weather shifts, air quality, pollen seasons, daylight cycles — these are the environmental variables most of us sense but rarely track. Add to that the less visible layer: solar activity and the rhythms of Earth’s geomagnetic field, which heliobiology research has been quietly studying for decades. The app brings all of this into a single picture alongside your body data — and invites you to notice what moves with what, in your own life.
Some days you feel sharp and energised for no obvious reason. Other days you feel drained, heavy, or off. There is usually more context available than we think. This is a tool for curiosity and self-discovery — designed for anyone who wants to understand their own patterns a little better, whether that is a biohacker tracking every variable or a parent looking for a calmer, more in-tune way to move through the week.
How It Works
The app reads Heart Rate Variability from the sensor on your smartwatch — no extra equipment needed. At the same time, it draws in live environmental data from multiple sources: barometric pressure and temperature, air quality and pollen levels, circadian and daylight cues, and space-weather readings including the Kp index, a global measure of geomagnetic disturbance tracked around the clock by scientific observatories worldwide.
All of this appears as overlapping visual trends, so patterns become visible over time in a way no single day can reveal. A simple daily journaling layer lets you add context — how you slept, how you trained, how you felt — so the picture you build is genuinely yours. Everything stays on your device. No account needed.

Heart Rate Variability


Heart Rate Variability — HRV — is one of the most interesting signals your body produces. Unlike your heart rate, which tells you how fast your heart is beating, HRV tells you something about the quality of those beats: how freely the intervals between them vary. A nervous system that is well-rested and adaptable shows higher variability; one under strain tends to become more rigid and predictable.
HRV is sensitive to many things — sleep, stress, exercise, alcohol, even the time of day — which is part of what makes it valuable. Your trend over weeks tells a far richer story than any single reading. Most modern smartwatches capture it automatically, and dedicated chest sensors can give even higher precision for those who want it.

Space Weather and Your Body


Most environment-tracking apps stop at the weather forecast. SolarHealth goes further. The space environment — solar activity, geomagnetic disturbances, and the electromagnetic field that envelops Earth — forms a layer of context that very few tools have brought into the personal health picture. That is the unique contribution of heliobiology, and the reason this app exists.
When the sun releases energy or charged particles, Earth’s geomagnetic field responds. These disturbances — measured globally as the Kp index — have been studied in heliobiology for decades. Researchers have documented associations between elevated geomagnetic activity and changes in autonomic nervous system function, including shifts in Heart Rate Variability. The effect sizes vary across studies, and the science is ongoing, but the thread of evidence is real and worth following.
What makes this genuinely exciting is the personal dimension. Aggregate data can only go so far. What the app opens up is the ability to look at your own responses — to notice what was happening in your environment on the days when something felt different, and to track whether patterns hold across seasons and solar cycles. Over time, the picture that emerges is yours alone.

Your Data Stays With You
Privacy is built into the core of the app, not added on top. Your personal health data stays on your device — it is never uploaded to a server. The only external connections are fetching publicly available environmental data: space-weather indices from scientific observatories, and weather and air quality information from public data services. No account required, no health data in the cloud.
What Is Coming
The app is in active development. The first release brings together your HRV trend, a live environmental dashboard, and a daily journaling layer — all on your device, all in one view. Future versions will refine the visualisations, deepen the environmental data sources, and add optional support for higher-precision heart rate sensors.
